EET 2.0

In July 2026, the Chamber of Deputies approved in the third reading the governmental draft bill on registration of sales and other related acts, so called EET 2.0.

The new registration system should cover mainly contact payments, for example in cash, by card or via QR code. On the other hand, bank transfers and payments of invoices will not be subject to the registration system. The new system will not require mandatory printing of receipts or acquiring new cash desk equipment. Small business owners can use a free web application supplied by the Financial Administration.

There are also other tax changes which are part of the bill. Among the proposed changes are reducing VAT rate to 12% on soft drinks sold in catering services, exemption of voluntary tips from taxes and contributions (up to a certain limit) and renewing the student tax reliefs and nursery fees. The bill also amends the tax regime of some health benefits provided by employers.

After reading in the Senate, the bill was sent back to the Chamber of Deputies. The senators proposed several changes, these are, among others, omission of cashless payments from the sales registration and changes to the regime of health benefits.

The legislative process continues in the Chamber of Deputies, it means that the Senate version can be approved, or the original version can be approved, or the bill will not be approved in its entirety.
